The gifts [Jesus] gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ...
The Letter to the Ephesians

Churchwarden
Marlylou Bowles, ODT.
My husband and I moved to Cavendish, just North of Buckhorn, with our family in 1991. I was raised as an Anglican and in 2002 we became connected with St Matthew – St Aidan which was the church in the area at which I felt most at home. I have been very active in volunteer work in the area for which I was recognized by receiving the Ontario Municipal Recreation Association Award. I am currently an active member of our local Food Bank.
I have been in the Peterborough Deanery Anglican Church Women (ACW) where I serve on the Executive and as Treasurer. In the parish, I serve as one of the Churchwardens. I also head up the Altar Guild and help out or take the lead in many parish community events.

Honorary Assistant
The Reverend Doctor Canon Judy Paulsen. B.A., M.Sc., M.Div., D. Min.
Judy spent her early childhood in northwest India, where her parents served as medical missionaries for fifteen years, after which her family returned to Canada and lived in the Ottawa area. Initially training as a speech and language pathologist, Judy worked for eleven years in that field. Her life took an unexpected turn when in her late-thirties she was called to ordained ministry. She served as a parish priest for sixteen years, before joining the faculty of Wycliffe College, where for over a decade she taught courses on evangelism, gospel, church & culture, worship, and church leadership. In June of 2024 her book, A New & Ancient Evangelism: Rediscovering the Ways God Calls and Sends, was published by Baker Academic. In December of that year, it received the Award of Merit for Apologetics and Evangelism by Christianity Today. While no longer teaching full-time, Judy presently serves as Coordinator of the Season of Spiritual Renewal initiative in the Diocese of Toronto. She is married to Pat and together they have three grown children and six delightful grandkids.

Assisting Clergy
The Reverend Anne Brandly, M.D., M.Div.
After years in her medical practice in Neurology in Toronto, Anne felt called to the Anglican Priesthood. After earning her Master of Divinity at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto, she was Ordained in the Arctic and served there as a missionary priest to indigenous people in the Far North of Canada. She learned much about the peoples' respect for the land and their customs. After returning to the South when her husband required special medical care, Anne served in the Diocese of Ontario. More recently she moved to the Diocese of Toronto and serves happily as an Assisting Clergy at St Matthew - St Aidan. Anne feels especially close to God in nature and marvels at the diversity and sanctity of all living beings. Anne has four children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
